Also EINSCHALTEN !

Nerf Brambles !

Everyone here is likely familiar with the 1% wipe. It happens when you're praying for your very own Squid on a Stick to drop from Illhoof; it happens when the tank suddenly dies and the boss has a sliver of health left, and you've got a Holy Paladin and Resto Shaman as your remaining damage source; it happens when someone was afk so you decided to try to 9 man Prince but failed so marginally -- it happens to the best and worst of us, when generally everything that can go wrong decides to go wrong and your party is cleared out as the boss in question, with 1% health remaining, merrily hops back to that original spot it always likes to stand in until some random people appear to try to kill it to see shiny purple text appear.

Blizzard recognized this -- they recognized that something should be done to prevent such an inconvenience from occuring to their customers.

So they implemented a simple solution, as is obvious to us all: Thorns.

Thorns, with a single click from any Druid in your party or raid, can give your tanks the minimal -- but essential, because 1% wipes always mean you just needed ONE more hit from anyone present to finish off the persistant bastard -- damage required to make those marginal wipes a downing of the said boss, instead.

Because of this valuable asset, Druids of all specs are welcome to groups and raids of all sizes; every serious raiding guild makes sure that they will always have a Druid, even if its good at nothing, just as long as it gives the MT Thorns. Some top-notch guilds even bring two Druids, in case Thorns wears off during an encounter, and one Druid is dead and cannot rebuff it, or if one lacks mana, or is just not paying attention, etc.

However, with the introduction of Patch 2.0, the immense value that Druids enjoyed has gone far out of control to a ludicrous extent.

What do I mean by this? The introduction of the Balance talent, Brambles.

Brambles, when maxed out, causes Thorns to deal 175% damage. Given that this is only a Tier 3 Balance talent, any Moonkin who isn't a complete moron has this maxed out, and several Feral and Restoration Druids also do if they can fit it in. Druids very often give up abilities such as Tree of Life Form, Force of Nature, or Mangle to ensure that they have Brambles maxed out.

Now to my point -- why this is bad. The original idea for Thorns was to prevent those "OMG WE WIPE BUT BOSS IS HAV 250 LIF LEFT??? WTF U GYUS SUK" moments for hardcore raiders and casual players alike. But when Thorns is now dealing 175% damage, not only is it capable of preventing a 1% wipe, it's nearly capable of preventing a 2% wipe! That nearly doubles the amount of "OMG WE WIPE BUT BOSS IS HAV 250 LIF LEFT??? WTF U GYUS SUK" prevented by bringing a single -- yes, just one -- Druid to your raid!

This is blasphemy, this is madness; a single member of a 25-man raid should not have such power from a 400 mana, instant cast skill. It makes Druids far too desirable in a raid, so that other classes, and even other Druids without Brambles are no longer able to find raid spots.

A notable example is Nihilum; it is well known that when they had their first world kill of Illidan, they brought along 11 Druids, all but one of which were Balance, and had the Brambles talent maxed out. During that near half-hour encounter, there was not a single moment thorns was not up, and did they get a 1% wipe? Nope, they sure didn't, and they didn't get a 2% wipe either, thanks to the ever-increasing power of Thorns. They did not even bring any Mages, Shadow Priests, Warlocks, or Elemental Shaman because the Moonkin already made up for their spell damage needs in the raid.

Even in PvP, it is ridiculous. Every successful 5v5 Arena team has at least one Druid on it, in order to buff everyone with Thorns. Do you have any idea how much damage that adds up to when you're facing one to two or even three melee opponents? That causes so much additional stress on the healers, and even causes them to spend more mana healing; it might as well be a Mana Burn that you cast before the match even started, that keeps casting itself as the fight goes on! The cookie cutter 5v5 team at the moment is five Druids of any spec; this means that if Thorns is ever dispelled (it is a blessing from the developers that such a thing is even possible), it will be reapplied almost instantly by one of the five Druids. This is even considered for raid encounters which include enemies that can dispel -- bringing a full party of Druids.

That is where the problem lies, Druids are dominating the endgame content, they are overrepresented in Arena, Hyjal, and Black Temple, and are monopolizing it at the expense of players of other classes. As a result, Brambles needs either a severe nerf, or should be removed from the game entirely. Those more opposed to this issue than even myself believe that Thorns itself should be removed in order to keep Druids on the same level as other classes.

Thorns is, and has been ruining the very structure of World of Warcraft ever since the introduction of Brambles. This must be fixed, or there will no longer be classes, only Druids.

Cowlen on Azuremyst Isle wants you to recover the Remains of Cowlen's Family.
Remains of Cowlen's Family: 0/1
We had lived peacefully among the Owlbeasts of this island for many years. You can imagine my surprise when they stormed the beach and attacked us.

I fought tooth and nail but was easily overpowered. As I blacked out from the vicious blows that I had been dealt, I prayed that my family not suffer.

When I awoke, all was quiet. The sand was soaked red with blood - their blood. They were devoured whole.

I care not for vengeance, Pag. I only ask that their remains be returned to me for proper burial.
My wife was named Thalrisa and my daughter, Magwin.

Also nehmt euch in acht vor gefräßigen Eulen !

Neue PTR-Version !

Druids

- Lifebloom healing coefficient has been reduced.
- Many shapeshift form tooltips have been updated to be consistent with each other.
- Nurturing Instinct increases your healing spells by up to 50/100% of your Agility, and increases healing done to you by 10/20% of your Attack Power while in Cat form
- Druid Restoration PvP Sets: The bonus movement speed for Bear, Cat, and Travel Form has been removed and replaced with a new bonus to Regrowth.
